    Enum DifferentialType

    Type of differential mechanism for torque distribution.

    Namespace: NWH.VehiclePhysics2.Powertrain
    Assembly: NWH.VehiclePhysics2.dll
    Syntax
    public enum DifferentialType

    Fields

    Name Description
    LSD

    Limited-slip differential - clutch-type with configurable locking characteristics. Ramp angles control locking behavior: lower angle = more locking. Set coast to 80-90° for 1-way (drift), equal to power for 2-way (race), or higher than power for 1.5-way (street).

    Locked

    Locked differential - solid axle, both outputs always rotate at same speed. Typical for off-road vehicles. Maximum traction but poor cornering.

    Open

    Open differential - no locking, allows free speed difference between outputs. Typical for economy cars. Can result in one-wheel spin and loss of traction.

    Torsen

    Torsen (torque-sensing) differential - gear-type that biases torque to wheel with more traction. Very smooth and progressive. Typical for AWD center differentials (Audi Quattro, Subaru STI).
