    Transmission Whine Component

    TransmissionWhineComponent inspector

Simulates straight-cut gearbox whine sound. Most prominent on rally and racing cars with straight-cut gears. Pitch follows engine RPM, volume follows load.

AudioSource positioned at Settings > Transmission Position.

    Parameters

    Volume Mix

    • RPM Intensity (0-1): Base whine intensity at idle with no load.
    • Acceleration Intensity (0-1): Whine intensity under acceleration (load-based).
    • Coast Intensity (0-1): Whine intensity when coasting or engine braking.
    • Smoothing (0-1): Smoothing speed for pitch and volume transitions.

    Pitch Mix

    • Start Pitch: Pitch at idle RPM.
    • Pitch Range (0-5): Pitch increase from idle to redline.
    • Reference Max RPM: Engine RPM at which pitch reaches maximum.

    Behavior

    • Automatically mutes in neutral or at very low RPM.
    • Coast detection: High RPM with minimal throttle input.
    • Volume scales based on engine load during acceleration, RPM during coasting.
