    Aerodynamic Drag Object

AerodynamicDragObject inspector showing box-shaped drag object visualization

Box-shaped air drag object used to model parasite drag on aircraft surfaces such as fuselages, landing gear, and other non-aerodynamic components. Do not use on Airfoil components, as airfoils already include drag calculations.

    Dimensions

Box dimensions define the size and shape of the drag-producing surface. The Direction parameter determines which drag coefficient applies to which face of the box.

    Drag Coefficients

Drag coefficient per box side. During level flight, the frontal area and front drag coefficient (Cd) are primarily used for calculating total drag.

Drag coefficients for different geometrical shapes.
